U2 frontman and humanitarian Bono can treat the money he lost seeding Spiderman: Turn of The Dark as pocket change now that his 1.5 percent stock ownership of Facebook has turned into $1 Billion dollars!
Bono invested in Facebook in 2009, buying $210 Million in shares, nearly a third of his net worth which is valued at $900 million by 2010 estimates.
According to reports, Facebook has recently been valued at $65 Billion which means Bono and his firm’s shares are worth an estimated $975 Million.
Facebook shares are not available on the public markets but are traded on SharesPost. SharePost connects private companies with investors before a company goes public.
This report comes on the heels of Bono and his U2 band mates being named the world’s highest-earning musicians by Forbes making $195 Million over the past 12 months.
And there you have it, did YOU know this gut was that stinky rich?
